[Posh Workshops] Mama and PapaRazzi Workshop: Sneak Peek Weems-Botts Museum

Yesterday I was incredibly blessed to spend the day with Caitlin. She is an up and coming photographer that is debating on whether to make her passion into a career. This week I'll share all about our day and what the workshop is all about and who they are for.
In the meantime, I couldn't resist sharing a sneak peek of our incredible models Breanna and Derek and our senior Samantha [more of them this week too!]. Lots of new things to be announced soon..

[Posh Kids] Rock Your School Pictures: Shawn, Caroline and Emma

I know, I know. I can't stop talking about school pictures lately. I think they even haunt me in my sleep. I was recounting my Lifetouch horrors to some friends over the weekend and they laughed, nodded in agreement and said "We planned on having you do our kids school pictures, so when are you doing mini sessions?" Huh? Me? School Sessions.. oh my gosh, my friends are brilliant! So while I would like to take credit for thinking of overthrowing of "The Man" by myself, I can't.
I can however share this little preview of the three awesome kids I met up with this morning for a "Rock Your School Pictures" Mini Session. Shawn, Caroline and Emma are awesome! They are super smart, fun and lucky homeschoolers. Their mom didn't want to miss the tradition of Picture Day, and we had way more fun!
So here's the deal.. $25 for a mini session (sibling discounts too!) Only 15 minutes, Prints and a Digital File. Email me for the details and for open dates. Only offering Rock Your School Picture Minis for 2 weeks! perfectlyposhphotography@verizon.net

[Posh Photography] 1/2 Year in Review..Favorites

This afternoon I was cleaning off my hard drive, making sure everything was archived or purged and I caught myself going back through some of the images. I feel like I am reliving the sessions again and so blessed that I have amazing clients and friends that allow me into their lives to capture moments for forever.
I have to admit that I did some self critiquing too and played with the "I would have done this instead or that." The big picture.. I love them all. They are not of my family or loved ones, but they might as well be. I lead with my heart and every session is an extension of that. I had to include a few favorites from the first half of the year.

[Posh Kids] Quantico School Picture Session.. Twinsers

This afternoon the girls asked to play on their computer, and I heard Harley tell Liberty, "I get to go first because I am the oldest." Liberty just agreed with her because although not technically true [Kailyn and Madi are way older].. Harley is 10 minutes older than her twin sister. It cracked me up. When did she get to pull Libby's punk card about being older? I am sure Libby will punk Tank soon enough and he'll just accept that she is older.
As part of my sticking it to the man week.. I took the girls out to do a quick mini session with them to celebrate PreK picture day. I can't believe that they are old enough to be in school.
Ohh, and for the next 2 weeks I am doing [Rock Your School Pictures] Minis!! Only $25.. email for the details. perfectlyposhphotography@verizon.net

[Posh Contests] Thank You Color Inc and MCP Actions!

Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh!! A month or so ago I won a contest through [http://mcpactions.com/blog/] . The contest was sponsored by Color Inc [http://www.colorincprolab.com/] for a 16x20 Standout mounted print. It took me awhile to decide which image I wanted, but I kept going back to one of the twins from our Virginia Beach vacation in April. I knew it was the one.
I ordered it last week, completely forgot and when the post man showed up with a huge box today, I squealed with delight when I opened it and saw my twinsers on the gorgeous standout print!

[Jodi] MCP Actions and Color Inc.. I **heart** you both!

[Posh Kids] Personal.. Happy Anniversary

Yesterday, my sweet husband and I celebrated another year of wedded bliss. I won't lie and say its all easy, but he is so easy to love.. it makes it seem less like work and more like sunny happy days. I have struggled with gift giving ideas because I am running out of things to buy, or just flat out refuse to buy them for him [sorry no PS3 slim babe]. I love gifts! Giving them, getting them, searching for them, for something special or no reason at all.. I love it all. So when it was time to figure out what I would get him this year, it took me a while.
He is a huge football fan, specifically San Diego Chargers [yay!!] and USC [boo!!] So when I can't think of anything that he needs, I have a "go to" gift with football paraphernalia. This year, he is the proud new owner of a Darren Sproles jersey. I am almost positive that he has 99 other jerseys in the closet that look nearly identical to this one, but he assured me that he loves it and it is different than the others. And as a bonus, when I was getting lost in the streets of Fredericksburg I had the kids dressed in their Charger and USC jerseys for a surprise pressie. Lucky for us we found the gorgeous Chatham Manor Estate through a wrong turn and voila' - new pictures for daddy's office too.
My gift giving ideas rock.. just sayin. ;-) I should get started on Christmas or my poor husband will end up with nothing.

[Posh Families] Arndt Family at Chatham Manor Battlefield

This weekend I took my kids out exploring. We have lived in the DC Metro area for 3.5 years and I have never been to Historic Fredericksburg or any of the other historic sites that house the battlefields. Really I have never ventured far from the mall, so when we set out exploring, I was certain to a. get lost and b. end the day with ice cream if they went along with my plan.
Well, I certainly did take a wrong turn, but I stumbled upon Chatham Man0r, the site of one of the Fredericksburg Battlefields from the Civil War. It is gorgeous! I knew it was the perfect spot to take the Arndt Family for their last days of summer shoot! We had the best time. They are all beautiful [which makes my job even more awesome!] and have these amazing eyes.
We strolled around, laughed, played and ended the session the way that I like to end any day.. with ice cream for going along with my crazy plans!
Thank you Troy, Steph, Kaylee and Cody for a great time!!

[Posh Personal] Mom Guilt! Quantico Kids Photographer

Mom guilt hit hard this week. Kailyn brought home her school picture form and I cringed. I always buy them, out of guilt. I donate my money every year to pictures that I truly despise. Sure, they look ok, after all.. they are of my kids. But...they aren't really them. Fake smiles and horrid backgrounds [that I have to pay an extra $7 to change the color on]. This year I put my foot down and said "NO".
Kailyn looked at me like an alien had over taken my mouth and spewed words in martianese. I had to clarify for her. Yes, you are still taking them. Yes, I am still buying an overpriced yearbook. But, no money for pictures. I promised the girls that they could pick their own location too and they decided on the train station in Historic Fredericksburg. It was fun and I got a shot of each of them that I love. YaY for rebelling against the man.
