[Posh Families] 7th Time is a Charm.. Vega Family| DC Style

When Holly contacted me about a family session in the fall, she knew exactly what she wanted. She had no problem with outfits, or locations or how adorable her family would be. The only issue... Rain. God had other plans for us. I am pretty sure that he laughed every time we would try to schedule [or reschedule] a date. He definitely wanted us to wait on him.

So this weekend when we decided to try for the 7th [oh yes, that's the 7th] time for a rain free outside session. God smiled. The wind blew, the day was a bit chilly.. but it was a perfect Washington DC, nearly winter day. Fun, smiles and sunshine graced our afternoon by the World War II Memorial and the Washington Monument. It was blissful to feel the start of the Christmas Season all around and to share it with friends.

[Posh Couture] Melanie and Jordan Heat it Up Downtown| Urban Engagement

Life has been crazy.. It has been busy and fun and full of late nights. I am getting caught up, or so I hope. Yesterday we were blessed beyond measure to celebrate Kailyn's 12th birthday [pictures coming this week] and Thanksgiving and my favorite day of the year.. Black Friday.

Erik and I braved the cold and the hordes of people out at midnight and didn't get in until after 6a this morning. Ohhh the treasures that we found from our night out. Once I was snuggled in my bed, I couldn't sleep. I thought of the kids getting up in just a few hours, the session of the day and the other work to be done. I was up and ready to tackle my to do list with a nap on my mind.

I knew my afternoon was going to be fabulous. I couldn't wait to meet up with Melanie and Jordan for their Urban Couture Engagement Session. We headed to Historic Fredericksburg and braved the mid 40 degree weather and crazy wind. They not only brought their A-game, they rocked it!! They wear their love for each other in the open and it was beautiful to watch.

Over the last few months I have been doing some soul searching, business planning and focusing for 2010. I have really revamped my style to reflect what I love and I am excited to announce that we're launching [Couture Stylized Kids] for the New Year!! More planning, more couture and more fun! One of a kind sessions for your minis.

[Posh Kids} Collecting Leaves and Knock Knock Jokes with the Wyandt Twins

Sometimes I sit and watch my kids interact and wonder how their personalities can all be so different. Kailyn and Madison are growing up, super opinionated and fashionistas in their own right. Tank is the only little man in the house and is rough and tumble 24/7. With Harley and Liberty, I had no idea what to expect. Would they be similar, mirror each other or be polar opposites? From day 1 their personalities have been completely different. Their actions are similar, but they are individually unique. One is shy, the other outgoing. One is the leader, the other the follower. They are both budding fashionistas just like their big sisters and the best of friends... but their similarities end there.

Today when I met up with the Wyandt twins, I wasn't sure what to expect. Their mom and I are friends and I knew that the twins are complete opposites. One is super outgoing, the other painfully shy. One the leader, the other the follower, but both absolutely adorable! We collected leaves and they told knock knock jokes as we played the afternoon away. I couldn't wait to share a few of my favorites from the day.

[Posh Families] Urban Couture Downtown...Capistran Family Rocks it Out.

I shopped for over 2 weeks, tried to follow my own advice about clothing..coordinating is good matching bad. Stressed over location. It took 3 hours to get everyone ready, but finally we were loaded in the car and off to Washington DC. My friend Caitlin is building her portfolio and offered to do our family pictures this year. I adore her, think she is super talented, and crazy! She wants to do OUR session?? I think she temporarily lapsed on the fact that I have 5 kids. After all the stress and shopping and location scouting, the afternoon was beautiful and I can't wait to see our preview from our session with her.

I do however have a preview of the Capistran Family that rocked out an Urban Couture Session in Historic Downtown Fredericksburg. Erika and I met over the summer when I took Michael's birthday pictures. I didn't know then that she would also turn into a friend and our boys would be best buddies. When she contacted me to do their family session, I couldn't be happier to get her [and her boys] in front of the camera! I love that they wanted something different and fun and were up for anything. How could I chose favorites?? I loved them all.. but here are a few of my faves.

[Posh Photography] Twinsers+Tank= Trouble...Fall Fun

Last week I took the Twinsers and Tank to play with Baby A and Baby B in the leaves. This may be our last fall on the East Coast, and I was sad that we couldn't take Kailyn and Madison out of school to come play with us. I thought we would have a little fun, then take the kids back out to play another day... but Mother Nature has had other plans for us over the last week. Non.stop.RAIN. Where is my sunshine?

So, while I am trying to catch up on galleries I came across these little gems that I decided to have a little color fun with from our play date in the leaves. Harley, Liberty and Tank had a blast playing and I am in love with all of the warm fall colors... hopefully the weather man is right and the sun makes an appearance tomorrow. I can't wait for more fall sunshine.

[Posh Kids] Baby A and Baby B turn 5!!

I have an irrational fear of germy places. Chuck E.Cheese and McDonald's playland being at the top of my list. I know I should try to have more faith in their disinfecting methods, but I get the shakes and border on hysteria when my kids mention a trip. I have done everything humanly possible to avoid Chuck E's fine establishment and can count on one hand the number of times we have frequented. So, when the girls mentioned that they knew that it was their BFF's birthday and they knew where it was.. I broke out in a cold sweat.

My dear sweet twinsers wanted to celebrate their twin friends birthday at the very place that terrifies me more than all other places. Chuck E Cheese. I tried explaining to the girls that we would have to miss because we had already done a cupcake party with them to celebrate and threw in that they couldn't miss school..for good measure. There were no uncontrollable tears, or sobs. Just giant, silent crocodile tears streaming down their faces, a quick hug to comfort each other and Harley's small voice, "but mommy, what if we don't touch anything yucky? Can we pleeeeeeaaaasssee go?" I was done. How could I resist?

Last week we met up with Isabella and Eliana [affectionately referred to as Baby A and Baby B by their mommy] to let the kids play in the leaves. Here are some of my faves to celebrate the girls 5th Birthday.
